November 2006

I am still getting tests done with Maria Isabel, 6-year-old girl that had a heart attack in June. Another 7-year-old girl came to me with a heart birth defect. I am trying to get more info from Dra. Toribio at Corazones Unidos. She says the girl must go abroad for surgery since it cannot be done here.

I once saw something about Larry King (the talk show host) having a heart attack and started a foundation for people who cannot afford surgery. I will have to check into whether he accepts kids and foreigners.

The Garcia home is a book in itself.

Thanksgiving and my birthday were quiet. The holidays come and go and I don't even realize until after the fact. Obviously I didn't do anything special.

Mary and Mike came from New York and brought donations. They are the couple that Jacobo introduced me to back 6 years ago.

A friend of mine was hit and killed by a wreckless driver.

I will be going to the countryside tomorrow. Jose Antonio, the little boy who drank the bleach, and his family have moved into a Haitian community, still far into the countryside but not so far as they were where one had to leave the truck and walk again another 1/2 mile or so. Anyway, his parents are getting married on 24 December and I am trying to help with preparations.
