Anny and I have been down with the flu. I was running a fever and have been in bed since Thursday. Now my body aches from not getting up and moving, only to the bathroom and kitchen to make tea. However, yesterday I did make it to the Pharmacy to buy cough medicine. I had a chronic cough but it is getting better.

Boston continues to be cold and rainy. Today I could hear the wind blowing outside. The lady I live with is selling her two family home and has an open house Sunday at 1:30PM. She asked me to clean up the outside flower beds and garbage the tenants had left behind. I just haven't felt up to it. Plus, with the cold and wet rain I didn't want to make myself sicker. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I had been busy with her properties, helping to clean them and move her things she had in storage.

As for Anny, the hospital's headquarters still has not approved the cost of the cataract surgery. The social worker told me today that they call twice a week but have not gotten approval. She said there is a possibility that it won't be approved but she's being hopeful. The Eye and Ear hospital did not and will not lower the price of $16,000. Let's hope for the best.

Anny can barely walk with the cane. She prefers to sit in the wheel chair and be pushed around and only uses the cane in front of the therapist. This afternoon I took them to Goodwill to buy dresses that the grandmother wanted to wear to church. Then we went to a store owned by Haitians and got Anny a wig. Afterwards went to a drug store to buy hair dye for the grandmother. Then to a dominican restaurant. I had chicken, Anny had pig intestines and the grandmother had salted cod fish. Mine was good. I've eaten pig intestines three times in the DR and neither time I enjoyed it. People kept saying, it has to be prepared correctly. I'm sorry but "no me gusto".
